
MYELOMA EURONET The voice of myeloma patients in Europe
Membership Information
Partnership and co-operation amongst patient groups and across national boundaries is critical to promoting greater awareness of myeloma and working toward a cure. Ours is an unbiased, pan-European organisation that is seeking registration as a European charity. We encourage you to join us in our efforts.
Membership Criteria
There are four types of members:
- Full members
- Associate members
- Supporting members
- Individual members
The full members
There are two types of full members:
The founders of this association. Founding members enjoy no special rights or privileges.
The other full members are public or private national or international organisations that meet the following criteria and that are accepted as effective members by the board:- Focused on meeting the needs of people living with multiple myeloma
- Having the same goals as Myeloma Euronet
- Wanting to share their experiences and knowledge in a cooperative fashion
- Willing to engage in activities of this association
- Either registered as or affiliated with a charitable organisation
The associate members
Associate members are public or private national or international organisations that do not meet the above mentioned criteria. Included amongst the associate members are those organisations for which multiple myeloma is not the primary focus of their activities but rather one amongst several aims.
The supporting members
Supporting members are foundations and corporations that have chosen to sponsor the associations’ activities with contributions of cash or in-kind services.
individual members
Individual members are patients, family members, and other men and women interested in cause of multiple myeloma.
Rights and responsibilities of the members
Full members are the only ones who have the right to vote in the general assembly:
- All members must respect the association’s statutes and its internal rules of order
- All members, except supporting members, must pay membership dues if such dues are established by the decision of the general assembly.
All members have the right to retire at any time from the association.
Application
Interested parties can apply for membership on-line via this website or through a current member of the Myeloma Euronet.
At present time, no annual membership fee is required.
Membership will be considered upon application, with the Board reserving the right to refuse any application.
Termination of Membership
Membership ends when:
- A group no longer meets the set membership criteria as outlined above
- The Board unanimously agree for good reason that the membership should be terminated
- The member group so wishes to resign their membership
If the Board determines that a group's membership should be terminated, the member group has 45 days to submit an appeal in writing to the Board for further review.
